Free treadmill
So, Mike's aunt told me that she has a treadmill she's trying to unload- I think it works, she just said her doctor told her not to use it. Let me know if you're interested!

Back in the game...
Ok, so I'm not running 25 miles a week or anything (and I probably won't) but I'm at least trying to run a little more regularly. For this week I'm at 10 miles (a 6 and a 4), and I'm aiming to do 6 more. I guess feeling like crap at the Shamrock run got me to take it a little more seriously. Although, I'll admit, even though I wanted to give up from mile 1, I felt great for the rest of the day!
My 6 and 4 this week felt ok...not stupendous, but what can ya expect? I'm definitely not going for any speed records, but I figure if I keep up with training, I'll get to a respectable pace eventually. I'm trying to incorporate hills more. It seems like the only way to improve your hill running is to run more hills...ugh. Any recommendations for hill runs? Yesterday I did a mile loop in my neighborhood that has a decent hill (takes 2-2.5 minutes to run up) four times. I just tried to go faster and faster up the hill. Thrilling, huh?
Besides for that, the knees are hanging in there...no knee replacement surgery yet!

how was the Shamrock run?
Hi everyone - how was the Shamrock run?
I have not run in 3 days unfortunately. I am still recovering from the Wheadon Chick Weekend up in Stillwater mentally and physically. We went on an amazing snow shoeing expedition to this lookout above the reservoir...it was really beautiful. However, now I'm trying not to catch a cold...I feel it trying to get into my head! I did pretty well with running last week...logging about 15 miles total. This week won't be so lucky...since I'm out in the field working, which always saps my energy big time. Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well with everything! Talk to you all soon!

Shamrock Run?
So, I'm signed up for the Shamrock Run...and I'm going to do it. But it's not going to be good. I really just want to finish it and enjoy it.
I too have been sick. In the beginning I was still working out, but then it totally knocked me down, like folding a load of laundry exhausted me, let alone running a few miles. I'm recovering, but I'm still not all back. I went to the gym on Monday to get a 5 mile in, and only completed 2.5...I'm aiming to do some elyptical tonight. I'd imagine it'll be better for the Shamrock, since we'll be running outside! Thank goodness for a break in this frigid weather!

I figured it out
OK so I just signed in with my own g-mail account and it worked. I have nothing to say about running today. I have been kind of sick this week and have been doing very lame workouts, but at least I am still working out while hacking up a lung. I think it helps with the recovery time.
Next week I will get back to the running. Then maybe I will have something to say. Jason ran 4 miles on Sunday and I went shopping.
Ok well the weather is looking like 40's so hopefully outside running is upon us.

Just My Luck...
So, this was a big weekend for me as far as the act of running is concerned. I mentally and physically prepared for this season of races. Now, I did not actually do any physical running. While at work yesterday, I needed a break, so I signed up for the 2009 Shamrock Run, Mountain Goat, and Boilermaker. That is a start. Now that I am signed up, I have to get my ass in gear. Last night I also ordered a new iPOD nano and Nike+ sport kit as mine disappeared the end of 2008 - no where to be found. Maybe it was stolen, or is just hiding really well. This helped with my motivation, bigtime. I was able to record and analyze my progress with each run. Plus, the music helps take my mind off the monotony of each step. Now I need to just get my Asics for the season and I will be all set, and have no more excuses to take my training serious.
Until today. I went to the Y and played some pretty high level volleyball this afternoon - three hours in my stupid weak left ankle gave out on me and got a pretty bad sprain. I am currently icing it - and it is quite sore and pretty swollen. Wonderful. The freaking day after I sign up for next saturday's race. THIS IS THE STORY OF MY LIFE. I plan on staying off of it as much as possible the next few days to hopefully be able to complete the Shamrock Run on Saturday with some sense of accomplishment... We will see what happens and how it feels.
Ok - back to work as I am here on a sunday night!
